Book donations to underprivileged communities
Initiated by Khyati Daksha
Description
Books can be expensive and difficult to avail of for children from under-served communities. Part of a well-rounded education is a strong command over languages, whether that is English, Hindi, or any other regional language. One way to approach this goal is to foster the love of reading and making books freely available for students from underprivileged schools to borrow, or to take home. Under this initiative, I and a few peers of mine will conduct a donation drive encouraging students like me to donate their childhood books to us so that we can help donate it to NGOs that serve underprivileged students aged 8-14. These books can be any old fiction, nonfiction, graphic novel, or even more helpful, an old CBSE textbook that isn’t of use anymore to you (because many such students study under the CBSE board).
